Johnny Depp’s first wife, Lori Allison, has made headlines for her comments criticising Amber Heard, a year after Johnny and his ex-wife Amber Heard’s defamation trial.
Lori married Johnny in 1983 when she was 25 and he was 20. However, they divorced just two years later, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
Lori recently appeared on the podcast Popcorned Planet and was asked what she thought of Amber. During the interview, she described Amber as ‘someone who should not be mentioned by name’ and recalled that she liked her when Johnny and Amber’s romance first started.
‘I met her once when I went to a party at his house. She was really nice and gorgeous and I thought how could I not like her?” recalled Lori. She added: “But as time went on, I started hearing about her. And he didn’t always seem very happy. I didn’t see him much, so I can’t really say…” and explained, “What affected me quite a bit was what he said in court. I felt really sorry for him and it broke my heart a lot,” she added.
Lori, who calls her ex-husband Johnny a ‘very private person’, said he made the right decision to come out wholeheartedly in the defamation case. Lori said she occasionally contacted Johnny’s associates to get updates on how the trial was progressing. She also revealed that Johnny cried with worry.
“(This) could have killed him. It just breaks my heart for someone to do that to him,” she said. “I’m no angel and I’ve done bad things to people, but what she did was really horrible,” she said.
