THE IDOL, starring Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp, will be distributed on U-NEXT from June 5 (Mon), the same day as in Japan.

HBO’s THE IDOL is a challenging drama from EUPHORIA creator Sam Levinson that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the music industry.
The story follows up-and-coming pop star Joslyn (Lily-Rose Depp) as she faces the challenges of fame while developing a relationship with club owner Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye). Abel “The Weekend” Tesfaye also conceived, executive produced and wrote the screenplay for this highly anticipated series, which is set to premiere in its Out of Competition premiere at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival (May 16).
In addition to the two stars, Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, Davine Joy Randolph, Eli Roth, Hari Nef, Jane Addams, Jenny Ruby Jane (BLACKPINK Jenny), Mike Dean, Moses Sumney, Rachel Sennott, Ramsey, Susanna Song, Hank Azaria and many more, bringing together artists and actors from a diverse range of genres from a wide range of cultures.
THE IDOL will be exclusively available on U-NEXT with one episode a week from Monday, June 5.
