Johnny accompanied Beck on his last tour in 2022. The duo’s performance attracted a great deal of attention, as it took place while Johnny was awaiting the jury’s verdict in his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. They had also released an album called ’18’ on 15 July last year.
Speaking of Johnny, the French film Jeanne du Barry, in which Johnny played the role of Louis XV, was premiered when he attended the Cannes Film Festival. After the screening of the film, Johnny was so moved by the thunderous applause and cheers that he had tears in his eyes.
He said at the press conference, “Do I feel boycotted now?” ‘No, not at all. But the reason I don’t feel boycotted is because I don’t think about Hollywood. I don’t feel much need for Hollywood any more’.
