Johnny paid tribute to his late friend Jeff Beck, the legendary rock guitarist who died on 10 January aged 78, with a performance.

Johnny had recently appeared at the Cannes Film Festival in France, but returned to rocker style on the night. In addition to Johnny, Rod Stewart, Joss Stone and Ronnie Wood also paid tribute to Jeff on the night.

Johnny accompanied Beck on his last tour in 2022. The duo’s performance attracted a great deal of attention, as it took place while Johnny was awaiting the jury’s verdict in his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. They had also released an album called ’18’ on 15 July last year.

Speaking of Johnny, the French film Jeanne du Barry, in which Johnny played the role of Louis XV, was premiered when he attended the Cannes Film Festival. After the screening of the film, Johnny was so moved by the thunderous applause and cheers that he had tears in his eyes.

He said at the press conference, “Do I feel boycotted now?” ‘No, not at all. But the reason I don’t feel boycotted is because I don’t think about Hollywood. I don’t feel much need for Hollywood any more’.
