While the possibility of a showdown at Rome’s Colosseum has been discussed, Zuckerberg reported on his progress in the martial arts on his own Instagram page.

In a photo of him and his coach Dave Camarillo (46) tightening his blue belt, he wrote, “Congratulations Dave Camarillo, 5th degree black belt. Honored to be promoted to blue belt in Guerrilla San Jose,” and “You are a great coach and I have learned a lot about fighting and life from training with you,” he captioned the post.

Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion last year, said in late June, ” I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. (If (Mark) does it, there will be a cage match lol,” he boasted in a tweet. It was a slap in the face of a challenge to Zuckerberg, who is launching a rival app called “Thread,” to which Zuckerberg replied to Musk on Instagram, “Send me the location. It was the talk of the world.

Thread is also known as the “Twitter killer” because of the fierce rivalry between rival billionaires, and celebrities such as chef Gordon Ramsay and singer Shakira were quick to sign up for accounts on the social networking site. Zuckerberg said of the platform, “I think there should be a public conversation app with over a billion people using it. Twitter has had that opportunity, but it hasn’t been successful yet. I hope this app of ours works.”

Musk, meanwhile, this week changed Twitter’s trademark blue bird logo to an “X.” He has also been criticized by some for trying to turn it into a subscription-based app by charging users for tick verification.
