According to international media, a Marvel movie starring Harry Styles (29), a member of the popular British boy group One Direction who is currently active as a solo singer and actor, has been “put on hold”.
Disney has put a spin-off of “Eternals” (2021), which focuses on Harry’s character Eros (Starfox), on hold.
According to AceShowbiz, Disney has reportedly put the “Eternals” (2021) spinoff focusing on Eros (Starfox), played by Harry, on hold due to a review of plans for a new phase of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
Harry made his MCU debut with a surprise appearance in the mid-credits scene of “Eternals” as Eros (aka Starfox), the twin brother of Thanos, the worst enemy in Marvel history. Later, Marvel executive and “Black Panther/Wakanda Forever” producer Nate Moore said, “There are more stories [for that character],” suggesting that there will be another appearance by Harry’s character in the future.
According to AceShowbiz, Harry was scheduled to reprise his role as Eros in the “Eternals” spin-off film “Eros and Pip,” which would have brought in $10 million. However, Disney plans to scale back various offshoots of the franchise, and as a result, “Eros and Pip” has reportedly been shelved as well. A source told the Sunday Mirror that
Marvel execs were openly talking about making Harry the lead, but that talk has faded. Business and the entire Marvel franchise are being reconsidered. There’s a focus on creating the biggest projects that generate the biggest revenue. Harry’s character is a fun and beloved role, but realistically speaking, he’s not the #1 choice to revive the Marvel franchise.”
