Recently, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade decision (a woman’s right to have an abortion). Popular singer Madonna, 63, revealed that she is in “deep despair” following the U.S. ruling banning abortion.
In the midst of all this, Madonna updated her Instagram last weekend. She wrote: “This decision has left me and every other woman in this country in deep despair. Now the Supreme Court has ruled that women’s rights are no longer constitutional rights. In fact, we have fewer rights than guns. I fear for my daughters,” she commented. She added, “I am afraid for every woman in America. I am just scared. God must have put this on our shoulders now because He knew we were strong enough to bear the weight of it. Strong enough to fight! We have the strength to overcome. So we must overcome. Let’s find a way to create a federal law to protect our right to abortion! Women, are you ready to fight?” He continues.
There are many celebrities who have taken action in response to this Supreme Court decision. In addition to the aforementioned Meadow Walker and Olivia Rodrigo, actress Jodie Sweetin (40), known for her roles in the drama “Full House” and its sequel “Fuller House,” participated in a protest against the anti-abortion law and was knocked to the concrete by police during the demonstration. The police knocked her to the ground on the way to the protest.
