How much is that fight worth?

The 45-year-old, nicknamed “Money,” just fought Mikuru Asakura in an exhibition match (3 minutes, 3 rounds under boxing rules) at “Cho-RIZIN” on September 25. He won by TKO in the second round, earning an estimated $10 million in fight money.

Mayweather continues to make a lot of money with exhibition matches. The next stage is a fight to be held on November 13 in Dubai, UAE. His opponent is Deji Olatunji, a British boxer and popular YouTuber. He is the brother of KSI, another world famous YouTuber and rapper.

Mayweather, who took the microphone at the press conference for the Deji Olatunji fight, surprised the media by revealing the behind-the-scenes details of how the matchmaking was realized. The Spanish newspaper Marca reported that the former world champion said, “They (management) approached me and asked, ‘Floyd, can you do (the fight) in Dubai?’ The former world champion said, “They [management] approached me and asked, ‘Floyd, would you like to play [a match] in Dubai?

And I said yes. And I said, ‘I want you to prove to me with a number (the amount of fight money) how much that fight is worth. I said, ‘Let’s talk on the phone,’ and they immediately wired me $1 million. So I made the call as soon as I could (laughs). What are you going to do? Let’s do it.

Mayweather, whose total assets are estimated at $500 million, has been traveling the world for exhibition fights since his retirement in 2017. I’ve made about $110 million (about 18 billion yen) from that alone,” he revealed, smiling as he spoke, “I’m seriously enjoying it and making a lot of money.”
