This season’s MVP winner will be announced on November 17.

With 62 homers in the regular season, Judge broke the American League record for most homers in a season, set 61 years ago by Roger Maris. Meanwhile, Ohtani, who has been active in both pitching and hitting this season, set a series of milestones for the first time in history: “30 home runs and double-digit wins in a season” and “reaching the double-digit hitting and pitching rule”.

The historical successes of the two heroes were again mentioned by Bo Jackson, a superstar who was named an All-Star in the 1980s in both MLB and the NFL. On October 20 (local time), he appeared on “The Rich Eisen Show,” a program on the U.S. video streaming service The Roku Channel, and revealed his impressions of each.

First, Jackson began by talking about Judge, who hit all year long and “deserves it [the record for most home runs in the A League],” saying, “When the tie record [61 home runs] came up, I tweeted him that I was rooting for him. I haven’t met him yet, but he’s been great for the baseball world,” he claimed.

He added, “Same thoughts about him. He is a very talented young man. When asked by the moderator about the possibility that he himself had pitched, he replied, “I pitched in high school, but I thought it was boring,” drawing laughter from the studio.

The two are currently in the midst of a major A League MVP controversy. There are opinions that Judge is the most likely winner, but what will the outcome really be? The winner of this season’s award will be announced on November 17.
